A. School Sends You the Document Checklist

After passing the interview, the school usually provides a list of documents they need to process your admission and COE (Certificate of Eligibility) (needed for visa).

Typical documents include:

Academic Documents

  • High school or university transcripts
  • Diploma / certificate of graduation
  • Any previous Japanese language certificates(if applicable)

Identification & Passport

  • Passport copy
  • Passport-size photographs(recent, plain background)

Financial Documents

  • Bank statementsof sponsor (showing funds for at least 1 year)
  • Income certificate or tax certificateof sponsor

Study Plan / Statement of Purpose

  • A short essay describing:
  • Why you want to study in Japan
